YamoChori is an environmental project that started in 2021 in Makria Logga, Etoloakarnania. It is an initiative that aims to create a community of people who live and work in harmony with nature, applying permaculture techniques, natural building and natural cultivation. This venture forms the basis for organizing youth exchanges, volunteering programs, local actions and trainings, creating a space where self-sufficiency, autonomy and freedom are core values.
The main purpose of YamoChori is to actively involve youth and youth-minded people in social interest initiatives. Through participation and collaboration, we seek to foster a sense of teamwork, solidarity and responsibility among participants. In addition, YamoChori aims to:
Empowerment of the local community
Especially young people living in remote areas, through their participation in initiative projects.
Cultural development
Preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of the region.
Promoting sustainable practices
Through permaculture, natural building and zero intervention in the natural environment.
Development of hiking trails
Promoting ecotourism and contact with nature.
YamoChori's vision is to create a vibrant core of people who live and work with nature, mobilizing and revitalizing the local community. We seek to bring life back to mountain villages, offering sustainable solutions to locals and those who wish to live close to nature, creating a social life with a non-intrusive and non-tourist character.
We want YamoChori to become a place where people love soil, water, self-sufficiency, autonomy and freedom. Through our activation, we seek the development of nature, the well-being of the people who live in it and the strengthening of the local community, establishing a way of life that is raw and untouched by the negative effects of the urban lifestyle
Our Team

Yamochori's soul
Alexander, after completing his doctorate in theoretical physics, discovered that real knowledge of the world comes through meaningful contact with nature. He likes to work with his hands, to constantly build new things, to ride a bicycle and to be in constant motion. He has a special talent for finding solutions to even the most complex problems. He is an amazing cook and is governed by a broad artistry and intellect.

Panagiota has been involved in Yamochori since its inception. With a special love for non-formal learning and driven by the love of nature and freedom, he moves around the world, learning new things that make sense. She enjoys natural flow, poetry, slow-paced travel, writing, philosophy, bicycling, sunsets at the intersection of earth and sky, and raw potatoes. At Yamochori she exercises her creativity, constantly downloading ideas.

Marianna is a product and systems design engineer. She is interested in natural and environmental materials and participatory bottom up design processes. Driven by these interests she continued her studies with a master's degree in environmental architecture and urban planning. She finds herself well among nature and in the water. He enjoys co-planning with different people experiences, drystones, gardens and food..

Bike has a calm, giving, wonderful soul that's why he is our leader! Always the first to greet visitors with joy and wagging tail. He walks with us to work and gives us redemptive kisses when we are tired. He likes bikers, walks in the mountains and the straws that his friends in the neighborhood give him! He is definitely the best in the village!
