Stefania
Stefania, originally from Greece, joined YamoChori coming from France. I stayed at YamoChori for two months, funded by the ESC program. During my time there, we worked on many building projects—smaller ones, like renovating the outdoor kitchen to make it more suitable for winter, and larger ones, such as constructing the roof for an old stone house. We also built dry-stone walls and paths, prepared the winter garden, maintained local trails, and made marmalades and preserves.
Beyond construction and gardening, we visited schools and organized outdoor activities with the children, including games and planting vegetables in school gardens.
Natural Colors
As a personal project, I explored natural dyes, experimenting with onions, olives, and curcuma to create a variety of colors. I also worked on repairing the cob oven in the kitchen, gaining hands-on experience in traditional construction techniques and learning the patience and care required for sustainable building.
