Noah
Noah, from Poland, spent four months at YamoChori through the ESC program, actively supporting a wide range of projects and daily activities on the farm. He contributed to building and maintenance tasks, gardening, olive harvesting, and other community-focused work, always showing dedication and enthusiasm. Noah has a particular passion for olive harvesting, where he combined practical effort with curiosity about traditional techniques.
In addition, he studies the Greek language and has achieved excellent proficiency, becoming an active and well-integrated member of the local village. Beyond his hands-on contributions, he also shared his love for poetry—especially the works of Kavafis—adding a reflective and cultural dimension to the team. His time at YamoChori strengthened both his practical skills and his connection to sustainable, community-centered living.
Poetry Nights
Although he did not have a personal project, Noah loved sharing poetry with the neighbors and the local village, with his favorite being Η Πόλις by Kavafis. He studies the Greek language and has achieved excellent proficiency, becoming an active and well-integrated member of the community. His presence enriched YamoChori not only through his practical contributions but also by bringing culture, reflection, and joy to the village.
Η πόλις
Είπες· «Θα πάγω σ’ άλλη γη, θα πάγω σ’ άλλη θάλασσα.
Μια πόλις άλλη θα βρεθεί καλύτερη από αυτή.

Η πόλις θα σε ακολουθεί. Στους δρόμους θα γυρνάς
τους ίδιους. Και στες γειτονιές τες ίδιες θα γερνάς·
και μες στα ίδια σπίτια αυτά θ’ ασπρίζεις.
Πάντα στην πόλι αυτή θα φθάνεις. Για τα αλλού — μη ελπίζεις —
δεν έχει πλοίο για σε, δεν έχει οδό.
Έτσι που τη ζωή σου ρήμαξες εδώ
στην κόχη τούτη την μικρή, σ’ όλην την γη την χάλασες.
